Zoltán Mizsei DLA

teacher

Church musician, composer, singer and instrumental performer, music educator. He graduated from Liszt Academy with a degree in vocal conducting and church music, and in 2004 received a DLA doctorate. He is a lecturer in church music at the Liszt Academy, where he teaches Renaissance church music literature, mensural paleography, choir conducting, and speech practice. He is the choirmaster of the Schola Academica, a founding member of the vocal ensemble Voces Aequales, has participated as a solo singer in the première of numerous baroque and contemporary works, and gives solo concerts combining Gregorian and improvised genres. He is a vocal and instrumental member of several early music and world music ensembles and has composed music for contemporary dance performances and films. Since 2016, he is the head music researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Kőszeg. He is teaching music culture for contemporary dance students at the College for many years.
