Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Is Open!
Are you dreaming of studying in BCDC? The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme is now accepting applications for the 2026/2027 academic year! Here’s what you need to know:
- What is Stipendium Hungaricum?
It’s Hungary’s flagship, fully (or largely) funded higher education scholarship for international students — covering tuition, a monthly stipend, accommodation contributions, and even health insurance. (Attention! This might NOT cover all the costs of living!) - Who can apply?
- Open to international students from countries that have a “sending partner” agreement with Hungary.
- For bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes — there are over 900 study programmes across many Hungarian universities.
- Even students already studying in Hungary under self-funded status may apply (if recommended by their university and meeting eligibility criteria).
- IMPORTANT! BCDC has only programs in Hungarian AND English language, so either knowldge of Hungarian, or studying the language is requiered! (Reach out for details!)
- How to apply:
- First go through the OPEN CALL so you get the idea of the programme, and you will find answers to your questions! https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/apply/
- Then, explore the “Study Finder” tool to pick your programme by country, language, and study field.
- Use the official online application system: stipendiumhungaricum.hu
- Then, register, upload required documents, and submit your application.
- Important: also check with your country’s “sending partner” (e.g., local education ministry or embassy) — they may have their own nomination deadlines or procedures.

- Tuition-free education at Hungarian universities.
- Monthly stipend to cover living costs. (May not cover ALL the costs!)
- Accommodation contribution so you can afford housing. (May not cover ALL the costs!)
- Medical insurance while studying in Hungary.
- Plus: you’ll get a Hungarian student ID.
- Deadline: The application window closes on 15 January 2026, at 2 p.m. CET.
